New at AMC Showplace 10 Theaters in Mattoon this weekend:
It’s the true story of legendary Olympic track & field runner Jesse Owens, who shoved it in Hitler’s face by being the black man who led the U.S. relay team to victory against the racist Nazis at the Berlin Olympics in 1936.
Jesse was also the first person to ever win four gold medals in a single Olympics. He won the 100m race, the long jump, the 200m dash, and the 400m relay.
He’s played by a guy named Stephan James, who you may remember as one of the guys who got shot by the cops in “Selma”. And Jason Sudeikis is in it as his coach.
Joseph Fiennes is a Roman ordered to find Jesus’ body to prevent an uprising in Jerusalem after it disappears from its tomb . . . and to prove that he DIDN’T rise from the dead. Tom Felton plays his military aide.
Tom is Draco Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” movies, and Joseph Fiennes’s BROTHER is the guy who plays Voldemort. Potter fans might also be interested to know that Tom plays a guy named Lucius in “Risen”, which was the same name as Malfoy’s father.
A horror movie about a family unnerved by supernatural forces after they move to a remote plot of land in 1630. First one kid disappears, then another starts acting possessed, and in their terror the rest of the family accuses their daughter of witchcraft.
