JOHN CARPENTER wrote and directed the original “Halloween” in 1978. Then he wrote and PRODUCED “Halloween 2”.
By the third movie, he was just a producer . . . and after that, his involvement was basically just being handed a check every time someone wanted to make another “Halloween” movie. But that’s about to change.
There’s a new “Halloween” in the works with Carpenter as an executive producer and creative consultant. And he says he wants to make it, quote, “the scariest of them all.” He might also compose the music, like he did for the original.
There’s no word who else will be involved yet and there aren’t any plot details yet, either.
There have been 10 “Halloween” movies, although “Halloween 3: Season of the Witch” had NOTHING to do with the rest of them. So technically, there have been NINE movies about the unstoppable masked killer Michael Myers . . .
That’s seven in the original storyline, then ROB ZOMBIE’s remake in 2007, and its sequel in 2009.
