It’s important on days like this to remember that there are still good people in the world.
A 54-year-old woman named Cindy March from Farmingdale, New York is disabled and she’s in a wheelchair. And she was on a public bus on Thursday on her way to physical therapy when it caught on FIRE.
Her wheelchair was strapped onto the floor, so she was totally stuck . . . until the bus driver risked his own life to save her.
He’s a guy named Jean Jeune. He realized the wheelchair lift on the bus had lost power, so he picked Cindy up and carried her off the bus. They got off just a few moments before the entire bus was completely up in flames.
Jean is going to be honored in a ceremony today.
And so far, there’s no word on how the fire started. (CBS 2 – New York)
