A 17-year-old kid in Kadugannawa, Sri Lanka was worried about a national standardized test he had to take earlier this week. Apparently he had to do well to graduate.
So he hacked into the official website of the PRESIDENT of Sri Lanka over the weekend, and posted a message demanding that the president CANCEL the test . . . or he’d keep the website offline.
In other words, if this kid put even a FRACTION of the effort he puts into hacking into his STUDYING, he wouldn’t have needed to hack the website in the first place.
The cops traced the hack to him on Monday, and arrested him. So now he’s facing a fine of $2,000 and up to three years in jail.
There’s no word if he still had to take the test, or if getting arrested DID get him out of it.
