“Father Of Pac-Man” Dies
(Undated) — The man who gave the world Pac-Man is dead. Masaya Nakamura founded Namco, the company that put out the wildly popular dot-munching game. Namco announced Monday that Nakamura died on January 22nd. He was 91. Pac-Man was released in 1980. A year later, Guinness World Records named it the most successful coin-operated video game in the world. It’s been adapted for cellphones, Nintendo, XBox, and PlayStation. The company estimates Pac-Man has been played more than ten-billion times.
