According to WCIA online, nearly 600 Illinois State workers finally got paid and are taking a breath knowing they have money for expenses. But Republicans in the Capital are still putting caution on future payments for workers and admit this week’s court ruling may have had an effect. The House Republicans are pushing a new bill that will allow state workers to be paid regardless if there’s a budget in place or not, including judges and legislators. The Attorney General however is going through the courts to the Supreme Court for a motion to deny all state workers paychecks, because without a state budget, state workers should be be getting paid. Governor Rauner is, also appealing the court ruling granting independent discretion over which account to pay government employees.
