Philanthropy Offers Free First Year Of College
(Undated) — There’s a new philanthropic endeavor designed to make college more affordable by giving students the opportunity to take their first year of courses at no cost. Steve Klinsky with Modern States says the Freshman Year for Free initiative allows students to take courses for free with textbooks provided. Klinsky says once you pass the College Level Examination program exam, you get credit at the college you go to. He adds that most major colleges accept the CLEP credit. Klinsky says this is the first time ever that you can get a full set of online college courses from top professors for free.
