An apartment in east Las Vegas caught fire last Friday. And the first person on the scene was a HOMELESS guy.
36-year-old Anival Angulo happened to be walking by when he heard CHILDREN crying, and saw smoke.
So he jumped over a locked gate to get into the backyard . . . realized one of the apartments was filled with smoke . . . and saw a three-year-old girl standing inside.
She couldn’t get out because there was a deadbolt on the metal security door, and Anival couldn’t get in.
So he just started yanking on the door as hard as he could . . . so hard he actually BENT it, and the deadbolt came unlocked.
He ended up saving the three-year-old, and a 10-month-old baby he found lying on the floor. It turned out their grandfather was in a back bedroom when something on the stove caught fire, and he had no idea. Luckily he made it out too.
Both kids ended up with minor smoke inhalation, but should be fine. Las Vegas Fire and Rescue released a statement that said Anival absolutely saved their lives. (ABC News / Washington Post)
