Here’s a good New Year’s resolution for you: Next year, stop riding other drivers’ bumpers, no matter how SLOW they’re going.
According to a new study out of MIT, tailgating doesn’t get you where you’re going faster. In fact, it has the OPPOSITE effect . . . the researchers found that when cars drive too close to each other, it creates traffic jams and slows things down.
The best thing we could do is all try to keep an equal space between the car in front of us and the car behind us . . . then we’d all get where we’re going almost TWICE as fast. (Science Daily)
