According to the National Weather Service, strong west to northwest winds are expected to develop after a cold frontal passage tomorrow night and Sunday. Sustained winds of 25 to 35 miles-per-hour and gusts of 40 to 50 miles-per-hour are expected in Champaign, Christian, Macon, Moultrie, Douglas, Coles, Edgar, Shelby, Cumberland, Clark, Effingham, Jasper, Crawford, Clay, Richland, and Lawrence counties.
Lightweight objects, such as trash cans and deck furniture should be secured. Use extreme caution while driving, especially when crossing bridges and overpasses. High-profile vehicles should take caution if traveling across the area on Sunday, especially on north-to-south highways like I-55 and I-57.
