1. “Dora and the Lost City of Gold“ (PG) Trailer 1 and Trailer 2
Isabela Moner from “Transformers: The Last Knight” is your live action Dora. After years of being homeschooled in South American jungles, our teenage Dora is sent to live with her cousin Diego in L.A. while her parents go on a dangerous expedition.
But once her parents go missing, Dora, Diego, and two of her friends are kidnapped by some bad guys who want her to track them down and find the lost city of gold. Dora’s parents are played by Michael Pena and Eva Longoria and Diego is played by Mark Wahlberg’s nephew, Jeff Wahlberg.
But the REAL stars of the movie are “Machete’s” Danny Trejo as the voice of Boots, and Benicio Del Toro as Swiper.
2. “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark“ (PG-13) Trailer
A group of teenagers break into the local haunted mansion, where one of them steals a book of stories that are written in blood. And when she opens it, she finds out the stories are still writing themselves and now her friends are all the book’s targets.
3. “The Art of Racing in the Rain“ (PG) Trailer
Milo Ventimiglia from “This Is Us” is a race car driver whose life story is told through the eyes of his philosophical golden retriever, voiced by Kevin Costner. It also stars Amanda Seyfried as the woman Milo meets and marries.
4. “The Kitchen“ (R) Trailer
Elizabeth Moss, Melissa McCarthy, and Tiffany Haddish are the wives of low-level mobsters in the ’70s who turn to a life of crime themselves after their husbands get locked up for three years and the Irish mob fails to take care of them.
Domhnall Gleason is a hitman who teaches Moss how to be a killer, and Common is also in it as an FBI agent trying to take down the local Italian mob boss.
5. “Brian Banks“ (PG-13) Trailer
Here’s one for the #MeToo era . . . Aldis Hodge stars in the true story of an All American high school football star who lost his scholarship to USC after being wrongfully convicted of rape in 2002.
Greg Kinnear is a California Innocence Project lawyer who takes his case and helps him clear his name so he can have another shot at the NFL. Sherri Shepherd is Brian’s mom, Morgan Freeman has a cameo as Brian’s jailhouse mentor, and Melanie Liburd from “This Is Us” is Brian’s girlfriend after he’s released.
