(West Richland, WA) — Several people in Washington have an interesting story to tell about their New Year’s Eve. A Washington State Patrol trooper tweeted that several cars got trapped on a highway because of tumbleweeds Tuesday night. Trooper Chris Thorson says the tumbleweeds were piled as high as 20-to-30 feet in some places, and he gave it the hashtag tumblegeddon. The highway had to be closed for around ten hours before it was reopened Wednesday morning. They even found one abandoned car trapped in the tumbleweeds at daylight.
