Attorney Suing IHSA Over Mask Requirement
(Springfield, IL) — An attorney with Silver Lake Group in Litchfield is suing the Illinois High School Association over its requirement that student-athletes wear masks while playing sports. Thomas Devore says the IHSA doesn’t have the constitutional authority to enforce a mask requirement. Devore also claims the student-athletes would be irreparably harmed by the requirement. The IHSA hasn’t officially responded to the lawsuit. Devore previously sued Governor J.B. Pritzker over his stay-at-home order.
