Polls Are Closing In 14 States
(Undated) — Polls are closing in 14 states at 9 p.m. Eastern time. Voting is over in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. A number of key swing states are among this group, including Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Political junkies are also to see if Texas is truly trending toward the Democratic party.
The key to control of the Senate could be decided in these states. Democratic challengers Mark Kelly in Arizona and John Hickenlooper in Colorado were leading incumbent Republicans Martha McSally and Cory Gardner in the polls. Democrats need a net gain of three seats if Joe Biden wins the presidential race, and four if he does not, to take control of the Senate.
