Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Case on Whether NCAA Athletes Should Be Compensated
(Washington, DC) — The Supreme Court will hear two cases on whether NCAA athletes should be paid. The two landmark cases could forever change the current student-athlete business model by examining whether the NCAA violated antitrust law by limiting the amount of college benefits athletes could receive. An appeals court recently upheld a ruling barring the NCAA from capping player compensation in Division I football and basketball programs. The NCAA appealed the case and it will be argued in 2021 with a decision expected before the end of June.
