OAKLAND, Ill. – Today, Congresswoman Mary Miller (IL-15) sent a letter to the White House with the Illinois Congressional Delegation asking for an Emergency Declaration for twenty-eight counties in Illinois. The letter was sent in response to severe weather and tornado damage across the Midwest this past weekend.
“We are continuing to pray for our neighbors and fellow Americans across the region in the aftermath of last week’s tornadoes,” Miller said. “My office has made it a top priority to ensure downstate Illinois receives the federal assistance it needs throughout the recovery. My office is here to assist and has been in touch with local officials, first responders, and FEMA.”
Miller is traveling to Edwardsville today to survey damage with emergency management officials and her office will hold mobile office hours at the Edwardsville Public Library to assist constituents with federal services.

“Please join me in prayer for all the families affected by this tragedy so close to Christmas,” said Miller. “Let us ask that the Lord surround us with His grace and peace, and preserve us through the aftermath of this storm.
