EIU CARE Game Raises $10,000 for SBL Regional Cancer Center
The Eastern Illinois University women’s basketball team recently donated $10,809 to the SBL Health Foundation to support people receiving care at the SBL Regional Cancer Center.
The women’s team raised funds through its annual CARE game, which celebrates all cancer fighters in the community and raises funds for patients battling cancer. Since 2019, the EIU women’s basketball team has donated more than $85,000 to SBL through the CARE game.
In addition to the monetary donation, the EIU women’s basketball team also donated a signed jersey from former player Morgan Litwiller.
“The EIU women’s basketball team has been a wonderful supporter of the SBL Regional Cancer Center,” SBL Special Events Officer Kim Lockart said. “They continue to make an impact on the community, and we are grateful for the team’s continued support.”
