Residents of Stewardson, particularly in the 200 block of North Pine Street, should begin planning ahead for next week. Your daily shower, hand-washing, cleaning, and cooking, could all be affected by this time Monday!
The Village of Stewardson announced it will drain the water tower for repairs starting on Monday, August 10th, which will in turn cause a brief water service pause while the tower is drained, followed by a boil water order for that stretch of Pine Street until further notice. The village plans to “lean on” its interconnect with ‘EJ Water’ to keep things running during the work, but officials say residents in the area may notice low water pressure at times while repairs are ongoing.
The repairs are expected to take seven to maybe even eight days to complete.
Anyone with questions or concerns regarding this needed project can reach out to Village Superintendent Larry Root at 217-682-5710.
