NCT 127 is setting up its next album era with the release of a track video for Piñata, one of the songs featured on the group’s upcoming seventh studio album, BLINGY. The group’s album announcement confirms that the full project will arrive on August 24.
Details released with Piñata describe the song as a mix of rock and hip-hop, driven by electric guitar riffs, a funky bass line and breakbeat-style drums. The track also features a guitar solo and forceful rap sections that add to its high-energy sound.
The accompanying video takes place in a gritty, late-night Seoul setting, with the members moving through the city as a streetwise crew. It offers an early look at the visual direction surrounding the new album.
BLINGY will feature nine tracks, including Piñata and the title track Blingy. NCT 127 is also scheduled to headline KCON LA on August 14 before the album’s release, followed by a comeback live event in Korea on August 25 featuring performances and discussion about the new project.
