Voting across Central Illinois will bring choices to the ballot that shape our state government, regional education, county and city spending, and local law enforcement, but that’s not all. Whether you are casting your vote in Mattoon, Charleston, Effingham, Tuscola, Arcola, Paris, Toledo, Shelbyville, or Sullivan, knowing the verified slate of candidates on your local ticket and understanding where your polling place is ensures that your voice is heard without a hitch.
Polls across Illinois are open on Election Day from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Anyone standing in line by 7:00 PM is legally guaranteed the opportunity to vote. Registered voters do not need to present an ID to cast a standard ballot in Illinois. However, voters needing same-day registration at the polls must bring two forms of identification, with at least one of those forms showing their current, residential address.Have more questions?
