For a lot of families, the holidays come with a little extra pressure… and for children who have already been through plenty, this “joyous” season can feel out of reach or worse, bleak. And that’s where the Mattoon community can step in. One Hope United is kicking off its Annual ‘Holiday Hope Express’ Campaign, and the goal is simple: make sure these kids and families are celebrated this season. Don’t let Santa seem unfair this holiday season!
This year, supporters are being asked to make monetary donations by Friday, December 4th, which allows One Hope United to provide gifts to children and families across our community. For families already stretched thin by the everyday cost of living, holiday gifts can be a heavy expense, and the Holiday Hope Express is designed to ease some of that burden. “Every donation makes a difference,” said Damon Cates, President and CEO of One Hope United. “The Holiday Hope Express is a way for our community to come together and brighten the holidays for children who need it most.”
One Hope United has worked alongside children and families for more than 100 years, serving them from early childhood through young adulthood with early childhood education centers, family support programs, foster care services, and Hope Houses, a specialized foster home model for teenagers who have run out of placement options.
To donate or get involved in the Holiday Hope Express, visit the One Hope United website here: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/one-hope-united. Again, donations are being accepted through Friday, December 4th. It would be best to call the Mattoon or Effingham location for details on direct support as the link above is seemingly more “universal.”
One Hope United is a non-profit supporting children and families in Mattoon and across Illinois and Florida. In the Mattoon area, the organization provides foster care and adoption services, helping children find safe, supportive homes. The local team also offers specialized support for children facing challenges in their placements, helping them build stability and stay in supportive home environments. Make a real difference this holiday season!
