Two Assistant Coaches With Illinois Basketball Leave For Kentucky
(Champaign, IL) — Two assistant coaches are leaving Illinois basketball. Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman announced today that they will both join the Kentucky Wildcats staff. Antigua and Coleman will replace Tony Barbee and Joel Justus. Barbee was hired last month as Central Michigan’s head coach and Justus was brought on as an assistant at Arizona State. Kentucky is trying to bounce back from one of its worst seasons with a 9 and 16 record and missing the NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, names surfacing to fill the Illinois staff vacancies are Western Illinois assistant Nick Irvin, Oregon assistant Mike Mennenga and Gonzaga assistant Roger Powell.
