Suspected Drunk Driver Charged With Crashing Into State Police Vehicle
(Rolling Meadows, IL) — An Elgin man is accused of crashing into an Illinois State Police squad car while driving drunk over the weekend near Rolling Meadows. Authorities say a state police sergeant was parked behind a stolen car early Saturday on the eastbound shoulder of I-90 near Route 53, when a gray Honda veered off the road and crashed into the sergeant’s car. The sergeant wasn’t injured. The driver of the Honda, Martin Landa, was taken to a hospital and later charged with aggravated DUI, reckless driving and violating Scott’s Law.
