A kid named Micah McDade graduated from high school last week in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, about 40 miles south of Tulsa.
And he has cerebral palsy, so he uses a wheelchair. But he surprised his classmates at their graduation ceremony last Friday . . . by WALKING across the stage to get his diploma.
He’d been working at it for months, and didn’t tell anyone at school. But as soon as he stood up, they realized what was happening and gave him a standing ovation.
He used a walker to help him balance, and a woman was there to make sure he didn’t fall. But he made it the whole way across the stage before he sat back down, and there’s a video of it online.
The announcer at the commencement got on the speaker system afterward, and said “Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve been doing this a long time . . . that is the best EVER!”
