What’s Hitting AMC Theaters This Weekend

New at AMC Showplace 10 Theaters in Mattoon this weekend:

1. “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows“ (PG-13)

Tyler Perry is the scientist who uses the purple ooze to turn two of Shredder’s henchmen into the rhino and warthog mutants Bebop and Rocksteady.

Stephen Amell from “Arrow” joins the cast as Casey Jones, the dude in the hockey mask who rescues Megan Fox from Shredder’s ninjas after she steals some ooze.

Tony Shalhoub returns as the voice of Splinter and keep an ear out for Brad Garrett is the evil alien warlord Krang.

2. “Me Before You“ (PG-13)

Emilia Clarke from “Game of Thrones” falls in love with a recently-paralyzed man as she fights to teach him how to live again.  He’s Sam Claflin, who’s best known as Finnick Odair in the “Hunger Games” movies.

His dad is the guy who played Tywin Lannister on “Game of Thrones”.

3. “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping“ (R)

Andy Samberg plays a former boy band member who’s desperate to stay relevant after his latest solo album flops.  He wrote it with the other guys from his Lonely Island comedy troupe.  Sarah Silverman plays his publicist, and the rest of the cast is stocked with “SNL” cast members like Bill Hader, Tim Meadows, and Maya Rudolph.
