Mattoon CUSD #2 Response to Lawsuit Allegations
The District was recently served with a lawsuit filed by a former Board member. We want to reassure our students, staff, families, and community that these claims are without merit, and the District will fully defend itself. While the District adamantly disagrees with the allegations in the complaint, the District is committed to upholding the rights of all students, staff, faculty, board and community members to express their beliefs and exercise their constitutional right of free speech.
Even as we address this matter, our commitment remains unchanged: to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where every student can learn and thrive. We are equally committed to supporting our staff, who dedicate themselves each day to helping students succeed
