In the Information Age, most of us use a computer everyday. However, most of us don’t do as much as we should to keep our computers running smoothly. According to a new survey, 90% of us have to be prompted before installing updates to our computer or cell phone, and over 5% will never install updates.
What’s the reason? 47% of people say it takes too long, 27% percent are worried the update might actually make their computer run slower, and 22% are worried they’ll lose files during the update install.
And here’s just how much we hate dealing with slow computers. 15% of people would rather run a marathon. 12% would rather take the SATs/ACTs. 10% percent would even prefer spending a night in jail rather than deal with a slow computer.
Despite our hatred of slow computing, 4% of the population would still ignore the issue, rather than just dealing with it.
