A Brand New Holiday Experience is Coming to Downtown Mattoon

We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s Celebrate Christmas event will feature a full downtown ice skating rink, for not one but TWO days!!!!!

The ice skating rink is brought to our community by two separate sponsors, Earthrise Energy, and KC Summers!

This synthetic ice rink brings all the fun of skating without the need for refrigeration, and it’s perfect for all ages: beginners, seasoned skaters, and anyone looking to soak in some holiday magic. Lace up, laugh, glide, or shuffle your way across the ice… it’s all part of the fun!

You’ll find the rink right in Downtown Mattoon in the parking lot across from the Time Theater / Thai Noodle during our Celebrate Christmas festivities, creating an unforgettable winter scene between the lights, music, and holiday cheer.

Friday, December 5th – Skate from 5:00pm to 8:00pm during Celebrate Christmas! Enjoy the rink on us, courtesy of our generous sponsor KC Summers!

Saturday, December 6th – The rink will be open 9:00am to 5:00pm thanks to our sponsor Earthrise Energy! To help make sure everyone gets a turn on the ice, we kindly ask skaters to keep their sessions to one hour or less.
