For Immediate Release
Lake Land College Broadcasting Club Holding Campus Food Drive
The Lake Land College Broadcasting Club is holding its 20th annual food drive to support the Lake Land College food pantry.
The club is accepting non-perishable food donations from October 19 through November 30. All individually packaged, non-perishable food items will be accepted, with priority items including spices, seasonings, canned meats and pastas.
Beginning October 19, boxes will be located around campus in the Luther Student Center, the Northwest Building, the Library and the West Building for people to drop off their donations. All donations will go to the Laker food pantry, Lake Land’s on campus food bank dedicated to combating food insecurity among students and their families.
Monetary donations to support the Laker food pantry can also be made securely any time on the Lake Land College website at LakeLandCollege.edu/Online-Giving/. In the drop-down list of support options, select “Other” and type “Laker Food Pantry” into the text box.
The Lake Land College Broadcasting Club food drive is part of the annual Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) Feed the Need campus food drive, a friendly, state-wide competition among all Illinois community colleges to collect donations for local food banks. Since launching in 2024, the initiative has helped combat food insecurity across all 39 Illinois community college districts every year.
