“Billboard” says the NFL is in talks with LADY GAGA for the Super Bowl halftime show, so it sounds like the league is hell-bent on doing another mainstream pop concert, rather than something rock or country.
Supposedly, the NFL was really impressed with how Gaga handled the National Anthem at the last Super Bowl.
An NFL rep wouldn’t confirm the talks though. Quote, “We’ve had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, at this point we do not have a final decision.”
It’d make sense for Lady Gaga, since she has a new album on the way, and it definitely increases her exposure, since NFL fans probably aren’t a big sub-section of her fanbase.
But who knows. Last we heard, ADELE was going to do it . . . but she said she turned them down, and the league said they never offered it to her. The Super Bowl is happening in Houston on February 5th.
