Several customers went up to the manager of a restaurant in Pleasanton, California this month, and said they could hear kittens under the wooden walkway outside.
But there was no way to get to them unless they ripped the boards up. So employees from a local animal shelter helped them do it, and saved all five kittens. Apparently they were about three weeks old.
But the mom wasn’t there . . . because it turned out the shelter already HAD her. They’d found her three days earlier, and could tell she’d had kittens recently. But they didn’t know where they were.
So they were all reunited at the shelter. And there was another kitten that wasn’t part of their litter. But it needed to eat too. So the employees put it in with the mom to see if she’d let it nurse, and she DID.
Now all six kittens are doing well. And they’ll go up for adoption when they’re old enough. Which should be about five weeks. (Patch.com)
