THE WEEKND’s new album “Starboy” is huge right now, and all 18 songs from it are on the Hot 100.
Amazingly, this is not a record. DRAKE had 20 songs on the Hot 100 simultaneously back in May, but this is now the second-most in history. Drake had 18 off of his album “Views”, plus two others, including Rihanna’s “Work”, which he’s just featured on. That still counts though.
It’s impressive, but it’s more common to have a ton of songs chart at once these days, because streaming plays a big role in the Hot 100. Before streaming, it was a lot harder to have a bunch of songs on the chart at the same time.
THE BEATLES had 14 on at once, but that was the best before the modern era.
The Weeknd’s highest charting song right now is the title track “Starboy” at #2, behind “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd, which is #1 for the fourth week.
The Weeknd’s “Party Monster” is #16, and “I Feel It Coming” is #22. The lowest is “Ordinary Life” at #72. Billboard.com
