Eastern Illinois University student and Mattoon native Johnny Olmsted has found out what it means to go viral.
He recently recreated a photo he had seen on the internet and it has since blown up.
The photo at first glance appears to be a romantic holiday card, but when zoomed out you see it’s actually a hilarious single spoof with the caption “The holidays are better with you”.
The photo has received almost 120,000 likes and over 60,000 retweets on Twitter. He has been contacted by numerous news outlets including “Buzzfeed“, the Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan , and will even have his photo on an episode of ABC’s “The Chew”.
When asked if he had any clue the type of reaction it would get he said, “I posted it on twitter and thought maybe 50 people would like it, but out of nowhere i was getting hundreds of favorites and retweets a minute. I actually had to turn off twitter notifications on my phone because they were coming in so quick that my phone was crashing!”
