Coke isn’t exactly a go-to drink when you’re eating at a super fancy French restaurant or a place that serves things like bone marrow flan and organic foam. But they WANT to be.
Because apparently, Coke has been running a viral ad campaign where they pay bloggers and Instagrammers to post photos and stories about pairing Coke products with “foodie” things like steak, lobster, sushi, paella . . . and also home-cooked meals.
They say their hope is to broaden their reach from being associated mainly with fast food and cookouts . . . especially since Coke sales are down 14% and Diet Coke sales are down 29% over the past decade.
