Study: Too Much Social Media Time Leads To Loneliness
(Undated) — A new study says young adults who spend a lot of time on social media feel socially isolated. The survey questioned Americans 19 to 32. Those who spent more than two hours a day on social media were twice as likely to feel left out compared to those who said they were on social media a half-hour a day or less. People who visited Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and the like 58 times a week or more were more than three times as likely to feel socially isolated as young adults who went to social media sites no more than nine times a week. The study is published today in the “American Journal of Preventive Medicine.”
