There’s a woman in Atlanta named Doris Payne. She’s 86 years old. And she just got busted for shoplifting from a Walmart.
And that’s not just significant because of how old she is . . . but also because Doris is a FAMOUS jewelry thief. There was even a Netflix documentary made about her called “The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne”.
She didn’t steal any jewelry from the Walmart on Monday, but she did steal $86.22 worth of stuff from the pharmacy, grocery, and electronics departments. She was charged with misdemeanor theft.
When the cops took her to jail, they realized she had an electronic ankle monitor on . . . because she’s on probation from when she stole a necklace back in September.
Doris has been stealing jewelry for about 60 years now, and she says she’s stolen more than $2 million worth of stuff. (Atlanta Journal Constitution / CNN)
