A massive storm that started in the Deep South is now moving toward the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, causing power outages and travel delays. Over a quarter of a million people from Louisiana to Georgia are without power. So, far there has been one weather related death. The chilly weather has also resulted in almost two-thousand flights being cancelled yesterday. Some areas are seeing a record amount of snowfall, like certain parts of Alabama with 10 inches of snow. The heaviest snow is expected to fall today from Philadelphia to Boston.
Lake Effect snow is predicted to develop in parts of Michigan and North Indiana today, as well. Weather experts say the snow and ice could linger into Tuesday, with a chance of subzero windchill temperatures later next week.
