According to the Illinois State Police, early Wednesday Afternoon a traffic crash injury occurred on Route 130, one mile south of Route 133. According to preliminary investigations, 42-year-old from Evansville, Indiana was traveling behind a 43 year-old from Mattoon, Illinois (both males), when the Mattoon driver (Unit 1) used his utility lights to attempt a turn onto a farm field access, the driver from Evansville (Unit 2) struck the rear of his vehicle. Unit 1 left the roadway to the right and came to a rest in the farm field, Unit 2 spun and left the roadway to the left and came to a rest in the ditch. The driver from Mattoon was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver from Evansville reported minor injuries and was treated on-scene by the EMS, and was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
