(Burbank, CA) — A familiar face to television viewers for decades has died. The Hollywood Reporter says Ken Berry passed away Saturday at a Burbank, California hospital. He was 85. The actor, singer and dancer is best known for his work in the sitcoms F Troop, Mayberry R.F.D., and Mama’s Family. Berry was also a regular on The Ann Sothern Show, Ensign O’Toole and Bob Newhart’s early 1960s NBC variety series. The Moline, Illinois native was encouraged to pursue a career in show business by his U.S. Army sergeant — future Star Trek costar Leonard Nimoy.
