We live in an era where you’re not supposed to tell anyone they can’t do something. But this survey kinda blows right past that.
The survey asked people to name the age when someone’s too old to switch careers. And the average answer is . . . 41.
It found people basically feel trapped in their career path by 36 . . . and they feel like they hit the point of no return by their early 40s.
But don’t let that hold you back if you’re in your 40s or older, and you want to switch careers. 31% of people of all ages say they still think about changing once or twice a month.
The top five things that hold them back are: Not knowing what else to do . . . worrying they won’t be good at anything else . . . the risk . . . worrying about providing for their kids . . . and not wanting to go back to school.
