This is REALLY funny, in a sadistic kind of way. Mostly I’m just glad I’m not on either side of the story.
A guy went to a Thai restaurant in Edgewater, Colorado for dinner this weekend. His bill was $60, and he left $1,088 in cash.
So the staff celebrated, and all split the money. The restaurant has been around for five years, and the owner said she thought it was a reward for all their hard work.
But the next day, the guy came back. He said he was DRUNK the night before, and he thought the $100 bills he was putting down were ONES. So he asked for the tip BACK.
The owner actually gave it to him. And he was so psyched, he gave her $100 to cover his $60 bill and a $40 tip. That’s still a 67% tip . . . but not quite the 1,800% tip the staff THOUGHT they’d gotten.
They say they hope he’s going to come back and keep being a customer.
