A Holocaust survivor named Israel Kristal took over the title of World’s Oldest Man back in March, and just turned 113 yesterday.
But back when he was a kid, his mom passed away. Then his dad got drafted during World War One, so he didn’t get to have a bar mitzvah when he turned 13.
So to make up for it, he’s having one at 113 instead . . . a hundred years after he was supposed to.
It’s happening two weeks from now in Israel, where’s he’s been living for the past 66 years.
Unfortunately his first wife died in the Holocaust. But he got remarried in 1947 . . . has a huge family now . . . and they’ll all be there, including his kids, grandkids, AND all of his great-grandchildren.
He said earlier this year that he doesn’t know the secret to living as long as he has. But his daughter said he’s a very optimistic person, and he’s always appreciated everything he’s been given. (BBC / The Times of Israel)
