There’s a 29-year-old woman named Lauren Puryear who lives in Woodbridge, New Jersey, just outside New York City. And she works with people with mental health issues. Plus she’s a single mom. So she has her hands full.
But about four years ago, she also started a charity called The Love of Others that provides food to low-income families.
And she originally just bought stuff in bulk at stores like Costco. But then she realized she could get more for her money using coupons.
So she got into extreme couponing a while back, and she’s been able to feed WAY more people that way.
She says on her best days, she can spend 20 bucks, and buy enough to make lunch or dinner for 150 PEOPLE. Plus she does little things to encourage them, like writing “Believe in Yourself” on the brown paper bags she hands out.
She recently set a goal to feed 30,000 people by her 30th birthday next year. And it looks like she has a good chance of doing it.
If you want to help out, you can donate on her website, ForTheLoveOfOthers.net. (NJ.com)
