There’s a guy in Fort Worth, Texas named Glen Schallman who’s in his mid-50s. And he has three different brain disorders that have caused seizures since he was about five years old.
He says the scariest part is they can happen in his sleep. And if he doesn’t wake up, he could stop breathing.
But back in January, he adopted a black cat named Blake. Then he started having a seizure in his sleep a few days later . . . and it saved his LIFE.
He says Blake must have realized something was wrong, because he started biting his TOES and woke him up. And apparently Blake knows when Glen’s ABOUT to have a seizure too.
He says he starts rubbing up against him before he even feels any symptoms. So he knows to sit down to make sure he doesn’t fall.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about a cat doing this though. There was a story in 2011 about a cat in New Mexico that started yowling when its owners’ daughter started having a seizure.
And in 2012, a cat in Wisconsin woke a woman up during a seizure, just HOURS after she adopted it. (CBS News / USA Today / Huffington Post)
