There’s a 10-year-old girl from Virginia Beach named Abby Furco, who was diagnosed with leukemia at age four. Then it came back when she was seven. And in July, her doctors thought she only had another day or two to live.
But a 27-year-old camp counselor named Sarah Rostock met her a while back at a special camp for sick kids. She ALSO battled leukemia when she was 14 . . . then again at 20 . . . and she beat it.
So she took the day off work, and went to see Abby in the hospital. And she told her to hang on, because she wanted her to be the flower girl at her wedding.
Then after that, Abby made it through the first 48 hours . . . started getting better and better . . . and she’s now cancer-FREE.
The wedding was just over a week ago, and Abby was there. Sarah says she was pretty nervous right before she walked down the aisle. But seeing Abby really put things in perspective, and they promised each other they’ll be friends for life.
