There’s a couple named Jim and Staci Maneage in Weldon Spring, Missouri, just outside St. Louis. They have a 10-year-old daughter named Ellianna, whom they adopted from China about six years ago.
And while they were going through the adoption process, they became good friends with another couple in their town named Steve and Paige Galbierz, who ALSO adopted a little girl from China.
Her name is Kinley, and she’s seven. She and Ellianna go to the same elementary school, and the same church. So they’ve become pretty close friends.
But a while back, Staci had a gut feeling they also might be RELATED, which everyone else thought was crazy. Obviously there are over a billion people in China, and Kinley came from an orphanage in a totally different city.
But Staci recently convinced Kinley’s parents to get a DNA test. And it turned out the two girls aren’t just distant cousins or something . . . they’re HALF-SISTERS.
The test found there’s a 99.9% chance they share the same parent. No one knows whether it’s the mom or the dad, and they’ll probably never know.
But now they won’t just grow up with their adoptive parents. They’ll also have a blood relative right around the corner. (KTVI)
