One of the oldest clichés about marriage is “never go to bed angry.”
But it turns out that’s not just generic advice . . . now there’s scientific proof.
A new study out of London found that you really shouldn’t go to bed angry . . . or you might NEVER get over the argument.
The researchers found that when you sleep, your brain organizes your memories and stores them. So if you’re angry about something, it winds up being committed to memory . . . which makes it much harder to get over it in the future.
So even if you don’t ever bring up that specific argument again, you’ll still feel a little more resentful overall than you did the day before . . . and that can add up over time and cause serious relationship problems.
